Peace Prayer - Antonio de Montesino
Jesus Christ
Center of our Hearts
And Word made flesh
Mindful of our Dominican Friars
Who first came to the New World
We praise you for filling them with your love
And calling them to bring Good News
To the people of Hispaniola.
We bless you for opening their eyes
To the injustices and oppression of the day
And announcing to all the shared humanity
And dignity of the indigenous...

Pursue Me
The Lord leaped down from heaven’s throne to be espoused to our frail flesh
His ocean’s mercy kissed the coast of souls as countless as her sands
He beckons me to dance with him and follow where his footsteps lead
Now I pursue eternal Love eternally pursuing me

Paradox of Happiness
At what point do things that make you happy cease to do so? Many times, this is over-indulgence of these items or events. As it turns out, the same things that make us happy, if overused, begin to simply ward off unhappiness. We begin to ponder and chew on the elusive thought of general happiness and self-actualization.
Many continue on the pursuit of increased stimulus—things that make...
Posterity of Virtue
Is it possible that all of your decisions of today score the course of the future? Well the glimmering answer is yes, or at least this is one way to think about such things. Is it so that each decision compromises the well-being of future family, both immediate and greatly postliminary—hundreds, thousands? May your concerns be counseled by selflessness. Partitions of your world are not...

Many commercial ads and other means of advertising had been whizzing past our heads before the end of the 2008 presidential election with a significant portion of them saying to get out and vote. What if some of the viewers are not meant to vote? It would be an understatement to say that many voters are not knowledgeable...
Trophy Husband
(Circa 2008)
It started with a reference, or several. Theses references turned out to be several people. These people included my mother, my friend Bryan, another friend named Lisa, and a couple ex-employees. I was at the stage in my life where I was taking on many more responsibilities at once. One of the larger, and of greater importance, was finding a source of income that did not consist of...

Vice/Virtue
As tempting as it can be, we all must withstain,
why render our love and devotion to God as secondary.
Don’t be lustful, to passions in this earthly life.
Instead have self-control and chasity.
Don’t lose sight of who I am.
When we over-indulge
We are withholding from the needy.
Don’t gluttonize and waste.
Instead have temperance.
And don’t lose sight...
Falling Stars.
We’ve been running ‘round this. Baby, I can feel us fading.
It’s not what we were meant to do. You and I were a shadow in the light. If this happened any other time, I’d still be too soon.
These falling stars, who knew they fell so hard. Don’t tell me that we’re through. And all this time, Lord knows that she’s still mine. It’ll always be us two.

Snippet.
I watched from afar, in the seat of my car at someone seemingly getting her groove on.
So I blink, count to three, how amazingly free, because I know this must be her song.
And it went…
i pulled up besider her, with a quirkly lil’ smile firtst
And continued to ask her for her first name.
Her jam on repeat, and a quick look at me
She took my hand and said “Jane”

Untitled. Yet.
I said baby don’t do it
You’ve already put me though this sort of thing before
I’m down on my knees and I can’t stand the bleeding of my heart anymore
We’re miles from the truth,
I grew distant from you
But the stories may hurt me the worst
When heartbeats collide, it’s a car crash inside
And the storm begins to pour on my conscience
I’d like to...

goldfishes
goldfish produce ethanol out of their gills people!
..something to do with anaerobic glycolysis and how they can swim and survive for nearly forever without inspiring oxygen.
this also explains why goldfish, along with most carp, can live in fish bowls and not have any source oxygen being pumped through the system.
now if only we could harness the power of these magical fish!..or at least teach...

Chronic Requiem
Look up to the heavens,
it feels like rain
and wash away this awful pain.
And now everybody walks away,

Dr. Jones, you know what I’ve been

Christmas fallacy
Now everybody is familiar Santa’s reindeer. But there is one key point that is generally assumed true, but is utterly false. The breakdown goes as follows:
1.) Reindeer, also known as caribou, belong to the phylogenetic class of cervidae.
2.) Caribou, unlike most of the rest of its cervidae friends, have antlers on both the male and female specimen of its species.
3.) It is fair to assume...
